Mary Hyunhee Song is an independent curator/artist, who is interested in cultural exchange, philosophical conversation as well as languages.
Mary Song은 현재 핀란드 뚜르꾸대학교 박사과정에서 동아시아학을 연구하고 있다. 한국예술종합학교 미술이론과 대학원을 수료 했으며 이화여자대학교 국문과를 졸업했다. 2010년 광주 비엔날레 국제큐레이터 코스를 거쳤고 핀란드에서 최근 Performance Artist - Silence: Silence wasGolden curated by Public Delivery, Finland/ Online 프로그램에 참여했다. 2013 Performance Artist - Tässä janyt. Performanssitaide Suomessa, Aboa Vetus &Ars Nova Museum를 참여했으며 2012년 제주에서 프린지 페스티벌에 퍼포먼스 예술가로도 참여했다. 2010년 갤러리B105에서 Gruenrekorder 를 기획하는 등 예술의 사회적 의미와 참여에 적극적인 활동영역을 가진 독립큐레이터이다.
Mary Song is an independent curator/artist from Korea, who is interested in cultural exchange, philosophical conversation as well as languages. Her independent curatorial projects include: Foreigners? Aliens?? Shinhan Gallery, Seoul (2007); Minority Report, Gallery 175, Seoul (2007); Young Collectors' Choice, Shinhan Securities Group, Seoul (2008). She moved to Ireland in 2009 and had her curator-in-residence at the Guesthouse Project in Cork, Ireland in 2010. She has curated an exhibition, Distance Making & Reducing, Rauma, Finland (2011) She is focused on collaboration with local artists for international projects and cultural exchange to reduce the gap between different cultures and misunderstanding. She writes for her blogs, 'Mary Art Project', about her art experiences and information as the director of Mary Art Project. During her period in Jeju, she has been a radio reporter and a DJ at Arirang Radio. She resumed her artistic activities again in 2017 to celebrate her 10th year anniversary since she started curating an art exhibition. She currently lives and works in Turku, Finland.
