이상욱은 얇은 검정 비닐봉투라는 일상적 사물을 통해 사물의 용도와 가치를 재해석한다. 구멍 나고 찢어져 재활용조차 어려운 비닐봉투는 일회적이고 소모적이며 필요성과 가치의 상실을 상징한다. 이 작품은 가치를 상실한 사물이 단순한 폐기물로 끝나는 신세가 아니라, 우리의 일상 속에서 어떤 역할과 의미를 지닐 수 있을지에 대한 질문이다.

Lee Sanguk reinterprets the purpose and value of objects through everyday objects called thin black plastic bags. Plastic bags that are perforated and torn, which are difficult to recycle, are disposable and consume, and symbolize the loss of necessity and value. This work is not about an object that has lost its value ending up as mere waste, but rather a question of what role and meaning it can have in our daily lives.
